Apple Apple will be able to sell the latest Apple Watches after an appeals court on Wednesday temporarily halted an import ban, in a major win for the iPhone maker.

Apple halted sales of its Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches last week in response to an International Trade Commission order in October that found blood oxygen sensors in the devices infringed intellectual property. massimoA medical technology company that sells to hospitals.

“The motion for interim stay is granted to the extent that the remedial orders are temporarily stayed,” said a petition filed in the court on Wednesday.

On Monday, the Biden administration refused to halt the ITC ban. Apple filed an appeal with the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Tuesday. The company is continuously demanding a longer stay. ITC will have to reply by January 10.

The pause means Apple will be able to sell the latest models of one of its most important products during its busiest time of the year. Apple Watch sales are reported as part of Apple’s wearables business, which reported sales of $39.8 billion in Apple’s 2023, which ended in September.

The sales halt did not affect the Apple Watch SE, an older model that cannot read blood oxygen levels. The latest Apple Watch models are also available from retailers like Best Buy or Amazon as long as they have stock.

Shares of Masimo fell more than 4% in trading on Wednesday. Apple shares were down less than 1%.

An Apple representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
