Who is it gary oldmanThe harshest film critic? Gary Oldman, it seems.

Oscar winner Josh Horowitz appeared in happy sad confused Podcast and admitted that his portrayal of Sirius Black, the wizard and godfather of Harry Potter harry potter The franchise is “mediocre”. The 65-year-old actor said that when fans ask for his autograph, they usually think of that role. But to everyone’s surprise, Oldman has now offered a harsh assessment of that performance.

He said, “I think my work in this is mediocre.” “No, I read. Maybe if I read books like Alan.” [Rickman]If I had gotten ahead of the curve, if I had known what was going to happen, I honestly think I would have played it differently. Yes. I mean, it’s just my own… My wife says, you know, don’t be ridiculous.”

And the harsh criticism is not limited to Sirius Black. Oldman reiterated that, when it comes to his illustrious acting career, he would “put it all on fire and burn it down and do it all over again.”

From playing Lee Harvey Oswald in Oliver Stone jkf And Count Dracula in Bram Stoker Dracula To deftly portray Winston Churchill dark hour – for which he won an Oscar and a Golden Globe – Oldman says beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

In other words, calling his performance great is subjective.

“It’s like anything. If I sat down and looked at myself in something and said, ‘Oh my God. I’m amazing,’ right? That would be a very sad day, because you want to make the next thing better,” said Oldman, who also had a memorable cameo But Friend, “It’s very subjective. It’s such a personal thing that you’re seeing; that other people are not seeing. That’s no disrespect to someone who says to me, ‘Oh, I really wanted to see you in that movie. Love,’ and I’m thinking, ‘I’m so bad in that movie, what are they talking about?’ It’s not like that. They’re looking at something else.”

He continued, “And there’s this part of you that you think maybe you’re conveying something in a scene and then you look at it and then you’re like, ‘Oh, I wasn’t doing that’ or ‘I thought I was doing something different than that.’ So, it’s your own work, which is healthy. As long as it doesn’t weaken you. And old work is old work.”

Oldman, whose storied career also includes the role of Commissioner Gordon in Christopher Nolan’s film Batman Begins and twice more inside dark Knight And the dark Knight RisesFirst appeared in the Harry Potter franchise in 2004 prisoner of azkaban, He reprized his role in the Goblet of Fire, order of the Phoenix And The Deathly Hallows, Part 2,

two years ago, during harry potter 20th anniversary HBO special, Oldman and several of his co-stars — including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint And Emma Watson – Returned to Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, England (where all eight studios were located). harry potter movies were filmed), and that looked back fondly On the memories he created while playing the iconic role.

“It was such a long time ago, and yet, it’s all incredibly familiar. All the memories of working here come flooding back. It was like last week… It’s a strange experience because you meet them as kids.” and now some of them are married and have children of their own. My memories of them are closed – it’s kind of closed off. Obviously, they’ve grown up,” he said. The best thing about it was that not many kids were able to see the kind of films I made. And then my fan base suddenly changed from age four and up. So a whole new kind of fanbase opens up for you.”
